In October, Sawako and I hiked the Chain Lakes loop trail by Mt Baker. This gorgeous trail has wonderful views of small alpine lakes along with Mounts Baker and Shuksan. A highlight was a Pika that posed for us.
We started the hike at Heather Meadows and did it counter clockwise hiking up the valley to Herman's Saddle. The plants were very colorful.

At the Saddle we had great views of Mt Baker and Mt Shuksan before dropping down into the valley by Iceberg lake.
Looping around Table mountain we worked our way toward Artists Point, interesting rocks, and the Pika.
