Kuroyama Three Falls Loop Hike

 Found a great new hiking area up in Saitama outside of Ogose.

It takes only 2 hours to get to instead of the 3 hours where we usually hike and is just a beautiful area.  You take a 20 min bus ride from the Ogose station to the trail head for the Kuroyama falls. There are a few cafes and this great little outdoor shop to get food before heading up the trail.

The trail is in good condition and nice and cool up to the falls.

After the falls the trail climbs steeply to Kasasugi pass.  A few places had chains to help you get up the steep rocks.

After reaching the pass, you hike along the ridge to Kaburi pass where you can see Mt Fuji in the distance.  There is also a nice looking restaurant there with wonderful views.  Next time I go, I plan to have lunch at the restaurant.

We took a shortcut on an old logging road back down to make it in time to catch the bus back.  All in all a wonderful day.  There are several other trails in the area to try so this will keep me busy for a while.
