At the start of April we visited Kyoto for 2 days to see the Sakura blossoms.
We went down in the evening and ate dinner at Hakkakuan in Osaka which is know for their tofu dishes. Then we went to the hotel in Kyoto.
The next morning, a friend took us to many of her favorite places as she grew up in Kyoto. The bus was very full as there are so many visitors to Kyoto it overwhelms their bus system.
This is the shrine where she played as a child.
Afterwards we walked along the Philosopher's Path. Even though it was raining, the Sakura trees were beautiful.

We ended the day with a trip to the Takenaka Inari Shrine and Heian-jingu Shrine Grand Torii.
The next day was sunny so we visited the famous Kiyomizu-dera Temple (a world heritage site). The streets leading up to the temple were narrow and busy - the cars could hardly move.
