Bhutan - Day 8

Last day of the trek.  We woke up to snow on the ground.

We said good bye to our trekking crew as they may be gone by the time we finish and headed down the snow covered trail.

The flowers along the trail were wonderful.

Special Pink Rhododendren

And we got to see the high Himalaya mountains because it was so clear.  Guide said this is pretty rare so it was a real treat.

View of Jigme Singye Wangchuck Himalaya Range

Tarigang - 23963'

Unknown

Masang Kang - 23602'

Maybe Gangkhar Puensum - 24836'

Jomolhari - 24035'

The horses passed us for the last time.

We finished up the trek walking through a woodcutter area - they saw the logs right after they cut the trees.  Then they stack the wood to dry it.

Chamgang - our destination

In town we went to a market to get some food for lunch and rested the remainder of the day.

Dried Fish Area

Fruit and Veggie Area

We hiked 4.8 miles with 145' up and 3491' down (yes a lot of down).  It was much easier because of the lower altitude.

One funny thing is that the hotel put us on their admin network so I could see all their servers, routers, etc.  Would have been pretty easy to shutdown the place.  I asked the employees about this and they were just doing what they were told.  The hotel really needs a new IT consultant.
