Started the rainy day by hiking up Misaka-toge pass where we got a nice view of Matsuyama city.
Walking down towards the city we saw farms, beehives and interesting cobra lilies.
This is a famous Minshuku that closed down, but the locals keep the restrooms open for ohenro-san. There are several local, volunteer groups that maintain parts of the trail and facilities.
Temple 46, Jōruriji is nice and quiet with lots of trees.
Temple 47, Yasakaji was holding a yearly fire festival so there were lots of families walking around.
After a quick stop for sweet bean obanyaki, we went to Temple 48, Sairinji which had a nice garden area including this maple tree that has red leaves in the spring.
We then ate lunch at a ramen restaurant with several other ohenro-san. It was a good excuse to get out of the rain before heading to Temple 49, Jōdoji. All temples have a gate with two scary statues in front to scare away evil spirits.
