Went to the dentist at 1130 for my final appointment and took the train to Susaki. From there I walked 6.5km to our Minshuku in Awa for the night where I met Sawako. We stayed at the base of the hill across the bay.
Along the way, I saw a special lunch train that when it stopped, the locals would put on a show for the passengers.
Finally, here are a few photos showing how we set up the futons at night. First a big pile of futon and comforter. The floor underneath is tatami mats which is how you can measure room size in Japan.
Put down the futon. Most have a base layer, but some do not.
Then put the comforter and pillow on top. Most of the pillows are filled with rice.
