Bhutan - Day 13

Started our last day by catching the plane from Jakar to Paro. 

We said goodbye to Tashi who safely drove us around Bhutan for the last several days.  She was very skilled at avoiding potholes, driving rough dirt roads, and avoiding cows.  Per Tashi, the roads are much better than when she started driving 13 years ago. 

The flight to Paro was great with wonderful views of the Himalayas. 

In Paro we did some last minute shopping before lunch.  All stores have QR codes that people can use to pay via their phone. BOB stands for Bank of Bhutan.

We then visited an archery range to watch people practice.  All the compound bows come from the Hoyt company in Utah.  They cost around $2000 which is a small fortune for a Bhutanese person.

The target is 135 - 150 meters away inside that shed.

After a wonderful lunch, we went for hike to the Zuna Dzong.

On the trail we found this big bag (about 5' long) filled with pine needles.  The farmers collect them to act as bedding for their cows.  The woman was walking up the trail to collect the bag.

A great way to end our time in Bhutan.  Tomorrow we get up and fly to Delhi, then on to Tokyo.
