New Zealand - Day 16

For our last day we hiked a section of the Kepler great walk. This track started with a suspension bridge.

We then walked through a beech forest where we found a weta house. A weta is like a giant cricket

The trail had lots of ferns and fungi along it.

We stopped at a sphagnum moss bog where I found a sundew carnivorous plant.

We hiked to lake Manapouri where we saw a  helicopter flying high at work. They are used to supply the hits on the great walks, bring in supplies for trail maintenance, and pest control.

We finished up with a drive to Queenstown where our guides left us after a wonderful lunch/dinner of roast lamb.  Queenstown is a tourist and activity center of New Zealand with water and snow skiing, mt biking, hiking, climbing, bouldering, caving, fishing, etc.
