We decided to hike up West Tiger 3 for the first time in several years and boy, were we surprised. The summit used to be covered with trees so all you could see was a limited view to the west. Now you see this...
We found out that 2 years ago, they logged around the summit areas because the trees were interfering with the microwave towers. So now, a short distance from Seattle and a relatively easy hike you get these views...
Poo poo point on the side of Tiger Mountain is a launch area for hang gliders. We saw several of them over the valleys below.
The first day we hiked over to West Tiger 2 and then back to the car. A few days later we hiked up West Tiger 1 we saw a family of Bald Eagles and then back to West Tiger 2 down the hill to the car.
The trails are nice and well maintained (including the trailed named 'K3 Unmaintained Trail') with lots of wonderful plant and animal life.
All in all a few days of great hiking. Highly recommended.
