Sunny day for a walk mostly along roads. Got a great picture of a heron in a field, a wheat field, and doesn't this tree look like an animal with a snout.
An election is happening in a few days so the politicians are out looking for votes. In Japan, you can only campaign for 2 weeks before an election so driving around in cars with speakers on top is very common.
We met Anthony, a 30 year old from Hong Kong who quit his job to do the entire route plus 20 additional temples at the base of Tosaka pass. The entrance to the pass trail was guarded by a cat.
The trail was pretty and not too steep. This trail took us around a tunnel with no sidewalks that all the books said to avoid.
Then into the town of Ozu where we all had ice cream cones.
I walked 21.7km today. You can see a map of my tracks here (you may have to refresh the page after a minute to get it to show). If you have Google Earth, it is faster to download a Google Earth file of my adventure from here.
