Blister feels much better, I think it may finally be healing a bit. Put on my last moleskin and we hiked 9km round trip to Temple 27, Kōnomineji up on the hill. The road was very wiggly, but the trail cut across the wiggles so it was much shorter than the road
On the way down we met Amandine and Katherine going up.
We also met a guy digging up bamboo. He uses a pick axe to get the large pieces from the ground. Then at home he cuts them up for eating. The bag was filled with bamboo.
Then I went to the train station while Sawako started walking to Aki. Train to Aki was very clean and smooth.
I passed by a cute station with a mascot.
In Aki I found a spot with wifi and studied Japanese while waiting for Sawako. When she showed up, we went to a Vietnamese restaurant for lunch and then wandered a bit. Probably a bit too much for me as the blister started to hurt again. We found this sign at DoCoMo (Japan's Verizon Wireless)
At 1500, we checked into our Ryokan for the night. This is the patch that the doctor prescribed me for my shin splint. It's really helping out. Only problem is all the extra weight 😭
You can see a map of my tracks here (you may have to refresh the page after a minute to get it to show). If you have Google Earth, it is faster to download a Google Earth file of my adventure from here.
