Day 11: Temples 24 - 25 and a doctor

Today got up and Sawako started walking while I waited for the bus. Got on and saw that she sent me message to remember the staff which of course I forgot. Got off at the next stop, walked back and waited 40min for the next bus. This was serendipitous as I met a young gal from Denmark, Katherine, who is doing the pilgrimage by herself and has foot problems also.

We rode the bus for a bit and then walked up the hill to Temple 24, Hotsumisakiji where we met Amandine. Sawako showed up a few minutes later.

Sawako and Amandine took off for the Shinshoji while Katherine and I waited for the bus. Everyone met again at Temple 25, Shinshōji and had lunch.

Sawako then took me to a doctor for my shin issue. The doctor verified that it was inflammation from too much walking and prescribed about a 1.5lbs of medical patches to reduce the inflammation. He also said no more than 10km of walking per day, less is better and avoid big hills. Looks like the rest of the trip for me will be mostly on transit. We all ended up in the same Minshuku for the night.

I walked about 4km and did about 23km via transit. You can see a map of my tracks here (you may have to refresh the page after a minute to get it to show).  If you have Google Earth, it is faster to download a Google Earth file of my adventure from here.
